Yosef Engelman, born in 1955, has been a part of the insurance industry since 1977. He continues the legacy of his father, who founded the family insurance agency in 1951. Yosef is the father of three children, all of whom have joined the family business and have taken over management since 2018.

Key Ventures and Investments

Engelman Insurance Agency

established in 1951, has grown through strong relationships with thousands of clients, offering personalized insurance solutions and trusted expertise for over 70 years.

Mongolian Coal

A partnership holding land with a large coal mine in Mongolia. Discussions are currently underway to bring in a Chinese partner to help operate the mine and transport coal by rail to China’s heavy industrial centers.

EngelRams

A real estate investment firm specializing in commercial properties, managing a portfolio of offices and industrial buildings.

Protea Network

A senior living community with four locations throughout Israel, offering approximately 1,200 residential units. Full occupancy is expected in the coming year, with plans to expand by adding another 450 units.

WiserProvident Funds – Between 2006 and 2009, Yosef Engelman founded "WiserProvident Funds," an innovative provident fund that partnered with several investment houses. The fund operated by annually replacing the underperforming fund with a higher-performing one, leading to consistently excellent returns. Eventually, the fund was sold to the major Israeli investment house, Meitav.

What ties these ventures together is the trust and collaboration Yosef has built with key clients, turning these partnerships into successful business projects across multiple industries.

In the insurance sector, Yosef has been a long-standing, active member of the Israel Insurance Agents Association (IIAA). The IIAA is a professional body representing insurance agents, dedicated to advancing their professional standing and improving client services. Yosef held senior roles within the association from 2014 to 2021, which included managing a region of agents, serving as Vice President, and acting as President of the association. In these roles, he played a key part in improving industry standards and practices.

Additionally, Yosef has been a proud member of the prestigious Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) for the past decade. MDRT membership is a hallmark of excellence and professionalism in the global insurance industry, symbolizing a commitment to the highest levels of ethical conduct and professional achievement.

Today, Yosef continues to support the success of his children in the family business, with a particular focus on innovative insurance solutions. Most recently, he has been working on introducing pet insurance to Israel, with the goal of bringing unique, cutting-edge coverage options to the market.
